Long-distance move from Kansas City, MO to Enid, OK

Move from KC, MO to Enid, OK

Scheduled move with Cobra Vanlines through Vantage Movers. Everything went smoothly! Oscar and Anderson were timely, professional, friendly and thorough. I was notified the day before load and delivery and when they were 20 minutes from location. Full service packing and unloading was very efficient. GREAT job!

Thank you!

Local move within Florida

Bad experience with Cobra Van Lines.

I initially commissioned a different mover back in June 2018, but was told that if there wasn't enough room on the truck, they would leave the rest behind. I was quoted an estimate of 4110.00. I cancelled and lost the down payment of $1000.00. That is when I signed with American Moving Partners. Because it was now the heart of the moving season, I was quoted $7921 and that I would get 1 month storage free then $400 a month after. Little did I know this was a broker just like the other company. I did not know until 2 days before they showed up. I tried to give them an inventory and dimensions of my furniture. They told me it wasn't necessary. They told me they were bringing a 24' truck. I told them it would not be big enough. After some discussion, they said they would bring a 26' truck. I still thought it would not be big enough. On July 8, 2018, Cobra Van Lines showed up and told me they were going to charge by weight. They gave an estimate but said they would have to weigh the truck at a scale after the truck was filled. After some serious discussion, I was stressed because I had to leave the house the next day. I had sold my house and was closing the next day. I was told we could calculate the price by cu foot. The amended price was now $12026.00. But like I told them, the truck still wasn't big enough. They filled the truck but had many items still left out. I did not know what to do so I asked them how much it cost to rent a u-haul and haul the rest 1000 miles myself. They told me 1 dollar per mile and approx. $1500 - $2000.00 with gas and packing. I asked them how much they would charge and was told they would take the rest of the stuff the next morning for $1000 more. This would total $13026. I agreed because I thought this would be my best bet.
On Aug 13, I called Cobra because I wanted to know where to send the storage fee and also to confirm that we get our furniture in Florida on August 28. Cobra told me to send the check to them but it was now going to be $1200.00 almost 3 times what I was originally quoted from American Movers. Eventually the settled for $1020.00. Everything was inflated. This still wasn't the end of the nightmare. We moved to Florida and on Monday, Aug 28, Cobra showed up. They had 4 movers. and brought all the furniture in the house. They put all the boxes in the garage but moved so fast, they didn't give me time to count all the boxes. I pointed that some of the furniture was damaged. they said to fill out a report and that they would take care of them. then after all was assumed delivered, I signed the sheet that the movers were here. Little did I know that boxes and items were missing until we started opening them up and went looking for specific things. There were fragile items that we specifically marked that were smashed. There were boxes that were marked one thing but had something else in them. I had a big screen tv in a special box that was clearly marked THIS SIDE UP, but the box was on its side and the screen was destroyed. We had 4 boxes of collectable angels that were marked extremely fragile. The carrier also put stickers on them. When we opened the boxes, other items were in them and we had parts of some that didn't belong to the ones we have. We had several other boxes missing. My wife lost several boxes of clothes. When the foreman left, he took the inventory list with him. I had to call several times to the broker before the carrier e-mailed a cop of the inventory list. The price of the move was inflated tremendously, the storage was tripled. there were missing items, there were several damaged items, it appears the carrier opened boxes and took items. After calling the broker several times, I was directed to the carriers so called independent claims adjuster, CSI PROS. I filled out their very complicated forms along with pictures of the damaged items and documents of the transaction. I filed on 9/10/2018. The web site would not allow me to print copies but I took pictures of most of the web pages. I also have photos of the damaged items and some of the boxes that were clearly marked. I have not as yet heard from them.

Long-distance move from Missouri to California

Awful experience.

Do not use this company!! They damage your things, and wait until they have everything packed up and moved and then demand additional money after they are driving away with all of your earthly possessions

They shrink wrapped my antique desk and then rolled it end over end down the stairs. Many things banged up, broken and or scratched. Poor customer service, extremely rude owner.

Stay away from them!

Long-distance move from Colorado Springs, CO to Parkton, NC

Cobra van lines.

Our belongings are still sitting in Colorado. The Cobra Van line movers showed up at our Colorado home on 7/31 and as soon as they walked in the front door said we were going to be charged more than we were quoted. They started literally throwing our belongings in boxes, they “forgot” half of my pots and pans in the kitchen and I gave them all of our canned goods. So as to save space, because he said we were over, we threw out /or gave away to neighbors most of our living room and kitchen furniture and we still have to pay $440 over what we were quoted. So now we sit in North Carolina, 12 days after moving and Star Light, our moving broker informed us Cobra still hasn’t even left Colorado with our belongings because they are “trying to find a driver”!! Truly disappointed! I’ll be writing another review once we do receive our belongings to report the condition of our things.

Long-distance move from California to Texas

They Have Criminal Drivers Beware!! do Not Use, Ever!

I moved from California to Texas and the first hint of trouble was the police had to be called as the driver was in a racial argument with my old landlord. On drop off, he was so angry and hated the heat and my heavy furniture. Long story short, he "lost" 25 boxes that he REFUSED to let me inspect before signing as it was midnight. He intentionally cut off my $200 mattress cover and intentionally did not put a single screw in my king size bed frame, which collapsed! He hid the screws in a drawer and shoved my mattress cover in my garbage, which I found along with the moving mattress covers I purchased that were NOT used. He intentionally smashed a head board post as he was hot and tired, broke a 500 pound desk by putting it on its side after I said not to and many more items. In the country, in Texas, at midnight he swore at me, threatened to load my items if I did not sign, charge em thousands more and said I should be careful, I don't know what he could do as he had a crazy look in his eyes. The company is making a laughable settlement and REFUSING to replace the items he INTENTIONALLY damaged! He is no longer with them, and they think that makes it all better. I am missing thousands of $$ of items, have many broken items and was traumatized! I paid $12k for this move and I was sent a psychopathic criminal who CRIMINALLY destroyed my property, harassed me and INTENTIONALLY tried to hurt me by not setting up my frame of the bed correctly. You would think that criminal activity would make them do the right thing and replace what was intentionally broken and missing, WRONG!! DO NOT USE THEM!! THEY ARE DANGEROUS AND refuse to do the right thing!

Long-distance move from Oroville, CA to Humble, TX

Things missing from my move-CA to TX.

When you hire a moving company, you expect your things to arrive safely and there. My family and I moved from Oroville, CA to Humble TX on July 4, 2019. Even though it's been a while since that move, we have our moving boxes in our garage that we hadn't yet gone through and realized last night that my sons grow light, an expensive Sunlight Systems 315 valued at $375 was missing, The movers must have taken it and it never made it to our home here in Humble. We needed that grow light to begin our indoor vegetable garden since it's almost Spring. Also missing is a box on my sons clothing,, ie shoes, shirts, pants etc.

Shame, Shame Cobra Van Lines.

Cobra moving.

When they came to pick up my things. I questioned them about the needed insurance. He stated that the minimum coverage would be enough to cover the items. My 55 inch smart TV was broken and after filling a claim and waiting for a response for 2 months they offered me $31 for the my TV. I would not recommend them to anyone! They were negligent. The box was destroyed and because they knew they were not paying the full replacement cost, they did not care.

Long-distance move from New York to Montana

My stuff is still sitting in NYC from pickup on 3/4/21

My stuff is still in NYC and it’s been 13 days

Called Cross Country movers who promised a great price of $2200 and on pick up day Cobra Movers showed up. Robert was “great” until we were handed over and then he ignored my calls and emails and only responded that I now had to deal with dispatch whatever that means. I was told that I was being charged 1200 more because I was over the cubic feet even when I gave Robert the measurements of everything I had and he said we were good and even had extra space. I had no choice and they were willing to leave me stranded and when I called the officeatheysaidthesameandhungUp on me. Of course they get to keep my $900 deposit for doing nothing. I had no choice how can you find a moving company on short notice and they know this. I called today to ask about the 30 day storage which Robert said would start when they drop off the stuff well let me tell you what I was told. 30 days from estimated drop off date 3/14 today is 3/17 and my stuff is still in NYC so they are wasting the 30 day storage. Then Amy tells me that if I am changing anything I have to pay almost $300 for storage. Told me thatRobert lied and she doesn’t know what they said but it’s what she says now. I tried to call to speak to a manager and was told by another lady that said I could speak her or Amy. No owner no manager. So no answers to my questions no resolution and no idea when they will feel like delivering my stuff. I hope an owner is listening because believe me once my stuff comes I will not stop until I have reach all platforms regarding this scam and all legally possible venues. This is not right we overpay to have our belongings treated like garbage and be treated like garbage as customers. I am inconvenience because I cannot get my things within the 2-3 weeks as promised by the “broker” And as I planned. To make things worse my daughter is special need and cries for her things daily. This is criminal. Now I see on the additional item form that the sly mover added after I signed a 90 cubic feet mattress does that even exists? And 20 more medium boxes. When I signed it didn’t say that and he refused to give the the copy until he left and kept saying that they were leaving my stuff. Well I hope my 20 additional boxes and 90 cubic feet mattress come because then it will be a lost claim I guess seems like a brighter side don’t you think? If I could 0 would be good but I have to give a 1.

Long-distance move from Twentynine Palms, CA to Tyler, TX

Amy is horrible and this company deserves to not be in business

I just got off the phone with Amy. She is the manager/owner. She is unprofessional and the nastiest, meanest person I have ever had the unpleasure of dealing with. I would like to think of myself as the opposite of the “Karen” meme. I have worked in customer service so I know how hard it is. I have compassion for it. I called to ask Amy about my money that I need refunded to me and she goes off on me. She tells me that my husband and I are horrible people. I can’t believe how nasty and horrible she was when I gave them my money and didn’t get my service done. This whole story is a long one so buckle up. We are moving from California to Texas for context. First of all, the people who picked up our stuff were wonderful. They came in a timely manner and my husband and I were very happy with everything. We were so happy with them to the point we gave all the guys 20$ tip and gaderades for their hard work. Unfortunately I had to push back the delivery date because of financial problems. It was a week push back. I call about a month later asking how much longer it would be. I wasn’t expecting it to be delivered right away since I know the cross country moving is chaos right now with Covid and the routes are messed up. They said they couldn’t give us a date and I say okay. We wait another month, no notice of anything. So my husband calls and they say nothing again. We call every day that week because they said it would get picked up that week. Come to find out they were lying. They said they don’t know who said that and she implied we made it up. It got to the point where they would put us on hold for hours(later confirmed today by Amy they did that on purpose). After this point on I started recording the phone calls because I knew they were shady. We call every day the next week until they give us confirmation. Finally they give us a driver and date. This is a week pass the max delivery date. Our stuff was delivered two and a half months since they picked it up. Again, my husband and I tried to be understanding. We were going into debt because we were buying stuff we didn’t have were sleeping on the floor. We paid them in total 5k$. We paid 2k$ just waiting for them to deliver our stuff. At this point we were irritated but not angry. The driver comes by himself with no movers to help him. He has his dog off the leash running around(which is illegal in Texas) and asks me to his dog water. I was uncomfortable and said yes. This is my fault, I should have told him to take better care of his dog and put the dog away in the car. My husband ends up doing all the work because the man is tired and he just laying in the back of the truck. At this point I’m admittedly pissed because we are paying this guy 2k$ to drive our stuff here and then sit on his butt. We ended up having neighbors help us move because they could see my husband was doing everything while I unpacked. The drivers dog was off the leash running around and our neighbors dog gets lose because the drivers dog is annoying it by barking and being aggressive. My husband gets bit on the back of the leg because unfortunately he was in between them carrying boxes into the house. We ended up getting a 300$ discount because they were 10 days late to deliver. Before the driver leaves, I find trash in my couch cushions. I knew they weren’t ours because we don’t drink orange gaderade. I remember we bought orange gaderade for the driver as thank you. I confront the driver about the trash and he admits he threw it in there. I have witnesses that can attest to this. I was so mad I asked him to leave and my husband ran out and told him that we were very unhappy with his service and filed a claim with him. Then he left. This was a month ago. I called Cobra Van Lines today to ask about our claims and where our money was. The claims were for nice bookshelves they trashed and were completely broken. I also wanted to file an official complaint against the company with the manager Amy. She started to go off on me like a mad woman calling me horrible and being so disrespectful. I work in customer service so I know you can have hard days. I was just baffled by the nastiness on the phone. I have this recorded as well. She told me I needed a therapist and then she hung up on me. I called her back and she accused ME of attacking HER. I am completely baffled. I have never had to talk to such a crazy person before so I don’t know how to handle it. I can’t believe I wasted my money on such an ungrateful person who doesn’t do their job and when they finally do it, it’s a shit show. I want my money back. I want them to know this is not okay. I am completely in shock that a company would do and say the things Amy said and did to me. This is NOT okay. This company is not okay. Amy, you are not okay. You don’t deserve this business and you are so unprofessional and wrong.

Long-distance move from Vero Beach, FL to Little River, SC

Avoid at all costs

Unbeknown to me, I agreed with a 3rd party mover to collect my household items and take them to Myrtle Beach. The issues were as follows:-

1. They organized to come Saturday 11th but because van broke down, they came on Sunday 12th.

2. They charged me an additional $1000 because they said I had more than the original amount discussed.

3. The head person asked me for a tip, when I refused, he wrote it on the paperwork and asked me to sign it. I told him if they did a good job when delivering, I would reconsider.

4. After they had gone I found 2 cupboards in the kitchen that had not been emptied, amounting to $500+ worth of items including brand new pots & pans, air fryer, electric oven etc.

I put my first date available as December 13th. Continuous phone calls have been that no driver available. I need these items including furniture and clothing and kitchen products but no one wants to deliver.

PLEASE DO NOT USE THE 3RD PARTY COMPANY OR THIS ONE.

Long-distance move from Stamford, CT to Los Angeles, CA

Overcharge and Scare Tactics

Cobra was subcontracted by a broker who hired them to complete my interstate move. I was provided a quote that I found resonable given other companies' estimates.

However, on the day of the move, the movers show up and make claims that my motorcyle is "too big", my mattress is "too big", and the $3,700 @ 585 Cubic Feet I was initially quoted were now $6,700 @800 Cubic Feet.

They threated to leave if I didn't agree with the new price estimate and I would lose my $1,100 deposit if i did.

I refused to ship my motorcycle through them and made sure to take pictures of my belonging inside the trailer before and after they were unloaded. I tipped the movers as suggested in the contract and ended up paying $5,800 @664 Cubic Feet (without the bike).

I then provided irrefutable evidence that my belongings occupied under 500 Cubic Feet, and even with the broker company advocating on my behalf and requesting a refund, they simply denied it.

I am now being reinbursed by the broker but strongly urge anyone looking to move to never trust Cobra. Zero stars

Long-distance move from Lisle, IL to Lemoore, CA

Worst movers ever.

If you would like to get scammed for a higher quote and unethical movers please call Long distance movers! Originally my fiance and I already booked a separate mover and when Greg from Long Distance called us back we informed him that his quote was too high and we decided to go with another mover. So Greg decided to use scare tactics to inform us that the movers we were initially using was actually in named something different in the past and they just rename themselves whenever their reviews become subpar. So in essence Greg was defaming another company. Ignorant to the industry, we believed him. We also mentioned to him the other movers we were using can do a large item deposal. in which he claimed our movers can as well. Forfeited our deposit and went with long distance movers. My advice to anyone and everyone moving is to lookup the company on the department of transportation website. If your movers are not registered in your state they outsource your job to another company. So all of these good reviews here is actually a facade. It is russian roulette about who you end up with. In my experience I ended up with Cobra Van Lines. He claimed in the morning of our move that he received a call the day before canceling our order. Um. No. Long distance movers called us to confirm and we said "No we did not say so". The mover comes in aggravated and mad because "he just flew in." Well, it is not my problem that his company was disorganized. I offered him coffee just so that he can pump up for our order. In the beginning of the order, I showed him where all the items were (parked on two sides of the kitchen wall and mentioned to him about the bed deposal). He acknowledged everything and asked us to sign the paperwork. Also, we paid him extra tip to dispose the bed. In the middle of the move, without notifying he was leaving - he left. He left behind half of our inventory. HALF. It was not that hard. Everything was parked by the wall. When we called back Long Distance, I was told by management that they cannot do anything about it. Great, he literally left and I immediately called. I was told by management my voice recording would be replayed to see if Greg ever promised about the bed deposal within 48hrs. It has been a month. She also went back and forth with me regarding items on the list that was not delivered. In the end I had to say we can go on all day about he said she said but on the list my vacuum cleaner, my boxes, my lamp, and a large picture frame was not loaded and that is the reality of the situation. They delivered the items today and my glassware is all damaged and I am missing a box that had my coffee maker, water boiler, toaster oven, and other misc kitchenware. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE SCARED INTO PAYING FOR A HIGHER FEE WITH AN UNETHICAL COMPANY PLEASE FEEL FREE TO GO WITH LONG DISTANCE! IF YOU WOULD LIKE POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE PLEASE GO TO LONG DISTANCE! IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SPEAK WITH SALES WHO LIES ABOUT OTHER COMPANIES GO TO LONG DISTANCE. IF YOU WOULD LIKE HALF OF YOUR INVENTORY FORGOTTEN AND MYSTERIOUSLY MISSING GO TO LONG DISTANCE. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO HEAR SNAPPY CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS AHEM NANCY PARELLA GO TO LONG DISTANCE. If you do decide to go to long distance do not book with GREG.

If anyone wants to file a claim the website to do so is:

https://nccdb.fmcsa.dot.gov/NCCDB/ComplaintEntry.aspx?choice=CONSUMER

EDIT: I was just contacted by Annie regarding taking my post down for $400. If you see any bad reviews that just gets taken down it is either they tried to file with Google review or Yelp to have it removed or they paid off the client.

Beware!

Please, beware of this company and do NOT use them. They are horrible and unprofessional. My boxes were crushed, the clothes in my wardrobe boxes were crushed and my hangers were even broken. Items were damaged because they were not carefully handled. They was extreme rough handling of all items based on the condition of everything. Unprofessional is putting it mildly. When my delivery driver showed up 10 days later, he was alone, one man to unload everything in the middle of my living room. It was a disaster and a move from hell!! They just want to upcharge you as well. That's the goal. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. There are many others out there. Do your homework and research, please.

Broker meh. Cobra Van Lines good in the end.

Cobra Van Lines did well but cust service number causes themselves unnecessary problems thru poor communications. Broker useless.

Broker, Professional Moving and Storage, (South Daytona, FL) led me to think I had replacement insurance & he was mover. FMCSA says 1st estimate should include it. Mover showed in rental truck, April 11, as Cobra Van Lines. Said they didn't provide replacement insurance. I protested, & broker quoted $1500. I reluctantly got the check, but on follow up found it wasn't insurance. So I did not give $1500 cashier's check. It would have been a logistical mess to stop move. 1st called Cobra 2 weeks after 4-11 as I'd been told 21 days, & calculated from the 11th. "Driver hadn't called in." Repeated each time. The reviews were not good. Got worried.

Finally, Lacy, who has a clue how to communicate, said it's 21 days from "1st acceptable delivery date" (17th). So this set May 8th as my delivery date. One call, they looked up my job, & said, "From North Carolina to Indiana"? That signaled she saw a display telling her something about the location. (That would be helpful to customers for planning.)

May 8th, driver called me. Heavy accent. 24 hours away, & he'd need cash or postal money order. I argued because I'd gotten 2 cashier's checks, per broker, & my bank's in CA. Called Cobra, & they said it was, "bottom of your contract". I later found it on the back fine print. Eventually, after a woman yelled she'd put it straight to storage, they said credit card & emailed me the form. I filled it out, but told them that I would email it to them when the load arrived. They first said, ok, but then reversed that & said they'd have to do it that day.

All this, plus reading FMCSA brochure got me wondering if I'll even see the goods. I got cash, informed them, informed the driver.

Scheduled for 4-6 PM. Lots of cash so I asked for a civil standby. Police looked up reviews, saw one about intimidated by guys jumping out of the back of the trailer, & agreed. I texted drivers tip amount available, set up coffee & muffins, taking a de-escalate approach.

Truck was late. Weather, etc.. Midwest. Driver asked if ok after 6 PM, & I said sure. Got a call around 10:30 they'd pulled over on a main road & could I lead them to the site. The road the building's front faces is closed to heavy trucks & police saw them. (News to me.) We got to site 11 PM. (Industrial location). Guys got out of the truck & it was a tired crew of immigrants from Central Asia. I'd run an office in Central Asia for 5 years. Thick accents from Russian & Arabic they spoke. Good people, but that part of the world, it's like the Bronx. You stand your ground to survive. They'd taken way better care than Bekins did 20+ years ago, for my last move. A few boxes were dented, but just what's expected. All there in good shape. Electronics worked. One piece weighed 300 lbs. Cobra had crated it well. (Self-pack tip. Tape boxes to death, with strips running all the way around.)

I'd rented a lift gate truck so I backed that up to their trailer, as loading dock was flat, not as I or they expected. That helped unloading heavy equipment.

We shared stories, everything went smoothly, Yes, two guys were in the trailer, & jumped out. But they weren't trying to intimidate, it was just their job to be back there. Makes things go faster,&the guys back there can prep, make sure they know where things are.

If I did it again, I'd go direct, not through broker.

Long-distance move from Selah, WA to Knoxville, TN

Movement of household furniture and goods.

Monarch Moving Group LLC of Philadelphia was the broker that did a "binding moving estimate of our household. They then contacted "Cobra Van Lines", LLC of New Jersey. Please be aware and not use this mover or any broker. Our household was estimated at 1133 cubic feet by Monarch for 143 pieces. When Cobra showed up in a small "Budget" truck , the driver told me that the Monarch binding estimate wasn't valid being computer generated and they would do one on the stop for the "true" cubic feet? Yes, they up sold/charged to say that it was more like 1700 cubic feet and would need lots of wrapping and packing by them before they would move anything. There were material lcharges, lots of blankets that took up needed space, and of course a lot more money.. The two helpers were not able to lift or carry the heavy furniture so they slide them down the stairs of the townhouse. They could not speak much english nor were t hey dresse professionally. Previous to them arriving, I had intitated any contact with the driver over the three days that they were delayed in arriving at our townhouse, very poor customer service. I did not pay the several thousands of dollars more so they only took about half of the pieces of the "binding moving estimate" that we relied upon with Monarch. I have issued a letter to Monarch to share with Cobra about the fraud and misleading "binding moving estimates" , up selling/charges, and lack of good customer service. Totally misleading with delivery of household goods picked up pending. Do not use Cobra Van Lines LLC.. I relied on Monarch Moving Group to select a top notch mover but am very disappointed and frustrated!

Long-distance move from Warsaw, IN to Brandon, FL

Beware of Trinity Relocation Group and Cobra Van Lines.

Trinity Relocation Group gave me a binding quote for moving from Indiana to Florida. When Cobra Van Lines showed up to load our things they claimed the original quote was wrong, that I had way more things, were pushy, rude, and overbearing. They held my move over my head that day demanding more money which I finally agreed to. Very stressful. Upon signing the paper work they guided me to sign the section stating I would accept 60 cents per pound. When I asked about it they explained it covered the entire weight and not more. Indicating the ENTIRE weight of all the belongings. Figuring I would never claim anything that was near the cost of 60 cents per pound x the weight of all my belongings I signed it. Trinity Relocation Group told me I had 30 days free storage at the other end. Five days after Cobra Van Lines picked up our stuff I get a call saying my belongings will arrive the next day. Because I had given them an address at the other end they said I could not get storage free and that I must take delivery or they would place my things in storage at my cost. Again, holding my belongings hostage I agreed. When they showed up to deliver they were unprofessional, rude, and pushy. My 3 year old 50" smart TV was smashed when I unpacked it. Because I had been coerced into signing the 60 cents per pound clause I am only getting reimbursed $23.04 fir the TV, even after filing a grievance. Beware of unethical, abusive movers, especially Trinity Relocation Group and Cobra Van Lines.

Long-distance move from Aurora, CO to Casper, WY

Move from CO to WY.

I was terrified when I found out that my broker has chosen this company for my interstate move after reading the reviews online. I even called them to see if another company could be used. It was last minute, so I was stuck. However, my experience was excellent. I couldn't be happier. My delivery driver was especially awesome and got here quickly after I said I was ready for my stuff (within a few days). I had no reason to fear. Would definitely use them again.

Long-distance move from Minnesota to Florida

Stay Clear !!

Highway Robbery!! Cobra Van lines was referred to up by the broker company Long Distance Movers!! Another company to stay clear of. Our lease in our apt in MN was up 9/10/18 and the movers were suppose to show up at 7 am 9/5/18. 7:45 am I called the mover and I had just awakened him, he said he would be right over. Over an hr later now after 9 am he showed up with his other 2 guys. The truck was promised SEVERAL times by Kaitlin at Long Distance movers that it would be empty which is was not ! It was half full with other people items. They said they had plenty of room to put our belongings in however ever that was not the case! Jose the driver said he could weigh the truck but sq footage would be cheaper "Pls trust me, I know this business!" He said it would cost $10 to get the truck weighed. A Which I gave him. I still wanted it to get weighed. Which was never done with all the commotion of moving. Instead he came over to me, I was stressed as it was stating that there were more than he thought and that the cost was going to be $11,365 from our original quote of $7537 to move everything. I had a bank check for the 1st half and had to write him a check for the remainder I/2 for the upgrade charge. They catch you at a vulnerable time, when you have a time limit to be moved out. They loaded our apartment from the POD we had in the parking lot at the apts. We had asked Kaitlin prior to the move that we had a small storage area and how much would it cost to have the 2nd stop. She said if 10 miles or less nothing. WELL Cobra should had been informed of this as they charged us another $600 as well as the cost of another UHaul as the 1st truck came 1/2 full of another's property. Cobra knew we were not going to be the ones on the other end in Florida accepting our property as we had a family reunion in Branson. Our friends dad was there for the delivery. NEVER were we given a booklet or how this move works. Also they accepted our bank check but would not accept it on the delivery end. I had sent the final payment to our friends dad a bank check. Charlie the owner was very rude and said it had to be a postal check or cash PERIOD!! So in Branson the last day of our visit with family we are running all over Branson mind you after 3pm looking for post office to overnight money to Florida for the day delivery. Charlie stated he would wait to have everything delivered at 1pm to give time for the new check to arrive. The driver call late 9/21 and said "Oh,No..! We deliver at 7am and anytime over that to wait will be $100 per hr. My friend, his brother and our realtor came up with the cash to have it by the 7am time. One guy showed up to unload and the other 2 came after 9:30 am. I called Charlie VERY upset and he said "What you worried about !! It's being delivered. " We have 38 boxes missing, and many items destroyed ! Different colored tags on several boxes from the ones we had. Boxes that stated Fragile Handle with care This side up " Crushed with contents destroyed. and 2 boxes were dried Calls to Charlie and Kaitlin with this issue Many times Charlie would not answer the phone. One time he told the office girl to hang up. Now CSI did their thing and with all the boxes missing we got NOTHING for the missing boxes. Even with the labels on the boxes with the contents. Also a brand new in its own box an Xmas gift gone and no monies for that as well. Final CSI assessment received last week was for $216 , $150 of which was for a good faith from Cobra. Dispute filed however I don't think it will amount to anything. We are absolutely sick about this. Irreplaceable glassware etc destroyed by the handling of our property. We were very nervous about the move and Kaitlin reassured us over and over that every would go smoothly. Well I am telling you this was an absolute Nightmare and continues to be!! DO NOT USE THEM OR LONG DISTANCE MOVERS!! GO WITH A REPUTABLE COMPANY WHO CARES ABOUT YOUR PROPERTY!!

Local move within Indiana

Move from Indiana to Texas HORRIBLE!

We moved out of our house July 20th. actually the guys that packed the truck were decent guys. We used a broker called Cross Country however when the movers finally showed it was a company called COBRA! Our quote was 4600 and we spent well over 10k for the move. We didn't get our belongings until August 16th. We spoke to some guy named Charles at COBRA who immediately came unglued and started arguing with my wife! We just wanted our stuff. This guy even went as far stating I threatened him! This company is a joke! We finally got our stuff but god knows if we got it all. Advice, use the top movers in the country. No need to pay the extra money for a broker and if you do ask who the mover will be and check them out. COBRA has a lot of bad reviews, this idiot Charles has a lot of bad reviews, and they have a lot of bad reviews on the BBB! Also they want cash or postal money order at delivery..think its being reported to the IRS?

Long-distance move from Denver, CO to San Jose, CA

Horrible experience. Drop-off guy was a cheat!

I purchased a full door-to-door assembling package for my furniture from Cross-country moving and they used Cobra Van lines for shipping.
Pickup was smooth with no issues. But, on drop-off the guy said he would come late in evening as I was the last one for that day. On arrival at 6:30PM, he said I have an 18-wheeler truck that cannot enter the community, so I will park on the street.
Then, he started measuring all this distance from my apartment to street and said as per company policy you will need to pay ~$375 extra. Later he said he could offer some discount to me if I am willing to work with him on the bargain. He said company will not know and I should give cash or venmo and he could come down to 200$ at max. I told him nothing of this sort was charged at pickup but he said I want atleast 200$ or I won't start the job. I called the company but since it was already 7PM no one picked.
He threatened that he will just leave all the items at wherever 75 feet ends from the truck and that you can keep it in your apartment from there. I was all alone and he kept on hassling with me for about 1 hour because I did not have cash and had a fixed deal which included entire package without any additional charges. He asked me to go to ATM at about 8PM to get cash. I needed my furniture in apartment because I live alone and had no help to carry it so, I finally agreed to pay him extra via cash (whatever I had total) and rest by venmo. After taking money only he and one more guy started keeping furniture. He did not give any receipt for the money he took (except venmo one I have) and said this is between us only (company need not know this!).
They disappeared for another half hour saying I have to close the truck. Finally, they started working at 9-9:30PM and finished around 11PM at night during which they asked me to start helping in unpacking things if I want to get things done faster.
They took more than 4 hours out of which 2.5 hours were just hassling for extra cash and arranging stuff in the truck before even starting the job. The individual took benefit of my necessity!

Long-distance move from Burlingame, CA to Kirkland, WA

Avoid them at all costs!

Not only did it take 10 days for a move from San Francisco to Seattle (really!), their service and care for my personal belongings was non-existent. There were so many broken items, some packed as "fragile" by me, with others like a standing lamp, standing fan, mirror, lampshade, etc. packed by them, and all totally destroyed. My claim took 4 months to resolve, and I was reimbursed 1/10th of what I claimed! They are an unreliable moving company - stay away from them!

Long-distance move from Colorado Springs, CO to Austin, TX

Horrible Company!! Liars And Rude.

Horrible company! Held my stuff hostage for 22 days and then didn't even give me a courtesy call to tell me a team was bringing my stuff. The team shows up with 1 hour notice and I wasn't around. The dispatcher called me and literally screamed at me without even giving me his name. He then began threatening me and when I asked him to slow down and help find a solution he hung up on me. Broke several expensive items. Was a daly later than promised.

THEY ABUSE YOU WITH THE CONTRACT!!

DO NOT SIGN A REVISED ESTIMATE!! YOU GIVE UP SO MANY RIGHTS WHEN YOU DO THAT!!

NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER USE COBRA VAN LINES!!
